-If you are reading this after you are let out - immediately get a lawyer. There is now a two year statute of limitations in LA to sue for medical malpractice (it was previously one year and it took longer than that for me to understand that I had a case).
-Every phone call you make to River Oaks - log it. Who you spoke to, time, date and outcome. I KNOW this is hard to do and dealing with them brings up more trauma, but you have to push through.
-GET YOUR MEDICAL RECORDS - ALL OF THEM. They are refusing to send me my admissions forms, which are very problematic.
-Report, Report, Report - It’s your word against theirs and considering they are part of UHS, you’re going to lose. But you need to get the documentation out there. You can file a complaint with LA Dept of Health/Health Services as well as the third party company UHS uses.
